401K and IRA limits are adjusted for inflation every year. In 2008, you could contribute $15.5K into your 401K. The limit increased to $16,500 in 2009. However, according to USA Today, it’s possible that the 401K limits could fall in 2010 because of negative inflation in 2009:   (Investing and Retirement)
